NFL Team Questions Draft Prospect About Sexual Orientation; Such Inquiries Not Permissible In Massachusetts

The NFL’s Atlanta Falcons issued an apology after it was reported that a coach asked a draft prospect about his sexual orientation during the league’s annual draft combine.

The incident should serve as a reminder to Massachusetts employees that potential employers may not ask about their sexual orientation during the hiring process and that the workplace rights of Massachusetts employees extend to pre-employment interviews as well. Questions about sexual orientation are off-limits during the interview and hiring process.
